I immediately recognized this as illustrating that Poe story too; I think it’s called “The Masque of the Red Death.” Great story, great drawing.neil-gaiman: Harry Clarke is one of my favourite artists - one of the very few that I collect (very lazily; I have two ink drawings and some pencil sketches by him). None are as scarylovely as this.

    I might be back from my long tumblr hiatus. Sorry if you missed me; I was just too busy with student teaching and work really to think about anything else.

    For those of you who don’t already know, student teaching was the worst, and it pretty much sucked all the life out of me. The real kicker is that I will not even graduate with full teaching licensure because I never got my classes really in line. Don’t ask me what I’m going to do about teaching fellows and if I am going to pursue other channels to get licensure and teach: I’d probably just burst into tears and tell you that I don’t know what I’m going to do. Right now, I just want to quit everything, get some sort of secretarial, salaried job, pay back the fellows, and live really meagerly, but god knows if I can even do that.

    Wow. I hadn’t meant this to be so whiny. I am alright, or I will be alright so don’t worry. I will *fingers crossed* keep you all posted here.
